The Compare Videos tool by Metadata2Go helps you detect differences between two videos by analyzing their quality frame by frame. It uses a machine learning-based video quality algorithm designed to closely predict how viewers perceive video quality.

VMAF stands for Video Multimethod Assessment Fusion. The report shows up to 12 metrics in all, VMAF plus the ADM, motion, and VIF measures behind it, and each one is pooled 4 ways: harmonic mean, mean, max, and min.
Numbers replace opinions. Two people can disagree about which video looks better; the metrics do not.
This app analyses the two videos instead of playing them next to each other. There is no video player and no scrub bar. What comes back is the evidence: a table that puts both files in adjacent columns, and a gallery of difference images.
The File Details table lines up 7 properties for each video, so a mismatch in dimensions, duration, or codec is visible in one glance rather than after two rounds of checking file info by hand.
The Frame Comparison gallery shows where the two videos stop matching. Each image marks the difference at that point in the timeline, which is what a quality drop, a re-encode artefact, or an edited shot looks like on screen.
Everything the comparison finds lands in one report: the file details, the quality metrics, and the frame differences, in that order. Export PDF turns the whole thing into a single file with a page footer that names where it came from.
That matters when the comparison is evidence for somebody else. A colleague reviewing an encode, a client signing off a delivery, or a case file six months from now all need a document rather than a browser tab.
The report stays with the comparison in your workspace, so reloading the page does not throw the result away.
The comparison runs on our servers and the result opens in your browser. There is no binary to download, no package to compile, and no command line to learn, which is what most of the alternatives ask for before they show you anything.
Each of the 2 videos can come from wherever it already is: your device, a direct link, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. A file already open in your workspace can be dropped into either slot with one click.
Comparing videos is free and needs no account. Each video can be up to 75 MB, and a paid plan raises that to 8 GB.

The 7 file properties are name, size, dimensions, duration, file type, video codec, and audio codec. Every metric is pooled 4 ways: harmonic mean, mean, max, and min, to 4 decimal places. A metric the analysis does not return is left out of the table rather than shown as zero.
