NB Streams is a metadata value that can be found in all kinds of multimedia files and file types. It is most commonly found in audio and video files, but by no means is it limited to that. Images and even documents can contain a value for NB Streams as well.
NB is short for numbers. Knowing that it’s easy to figure out that NB Streams defines the number of streams in a multimedia file. Audio and video files can contain different streams. In a video file, the amount could be two, with one video and one audio stream present. However, there can be more than one stream of each present in the file as well.
Checking a file for hidden metadata, the NB Streams are represented by numerals. Typically, they range from 1 to 4.
