What the app does with your video, before you upload anything.
To extract audio from video, upload the file and open the settings. Set Stream to Extract to Audio only, then start the job.
The audio track is copied out of the container exactly as it is. Nothing is re-encoded, so the sound you get back is the sound that was already in the file. There is no format, bitrate, or codec to choose, because none is needed.
A video can hold more than one audio track. A film with a commentary track, or an MP4 with a second language, gives one file per track. The panel says so itself: each track is saved as its own separate file, so you get one download per track.
Accepted input: any video file. Common ones are MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, FLV, and MPG.
Subtitles are a track like any other. Set Stream to Extract to Subtitles only and every subtitle track inside the file is written out as its own file.
This works on containers that already carry a subtitle track, which MKV files very often do and MP4 files sometimes do. A film with English and Spanish subtitles gives 2 files, one per language.
Two limits are worth knowing before you start. Subtitles burned into the picture are part of the video itself, not a separate track, so nothing can lift them out. And the app does not listen to speech and write it down. It hands back the tracks the file already holds.
